Case Study

Brief Overview

In 2021 Kimura Performance partnered with Tarran Mackenzie to support his racing programme for McAMS Yamaha team in the Bennett’s British Superbike Championship.

The British Superbike Championship races all over the UK from April to October over 11 rounds at iconic circuits such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Knockhill and Donington.

The highlight races are Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park in the summer with attendance numbers as high as 50,000 people.

Kimura Performance had their branding on Tarran’s race helmet and leathers in prominent positions.

The series is broadcast live on Eurosport and Quest with a highlights package on ITV3 midweek as well as a worldwide distribution.

Outcome

Tarran’s 2021 season resulted in him winning 10 races with podiums positions at 9 further races and the prestigious Pirelli Ace of Races award at Snetterton and the Monster King of Brands Hatch award and also picking up 5 Rider of the Day awards resulting him winning the Championship outright at the last race at Brands Hatch in October.

With Tarran Mackenzie winning the Championship in 2021 Kimura Performance deciided to continue to Support Tarran in his 2022 title defence.

The Results

Kimura Performance made and distributed a ‘Race Recap’ video after each race weekend that Tarran competed at, this 90 second edit went out on You Tube and Twitter. Kimura Performance also made more in depth interviews with Tarran that went out on the same platforms and were received very well.

Across the whole of the BSB season Tarran and Kimura enjoyed 1 hour and 21 minutes of live TV time with the Kimura logo clearly on view in grid and podium interviews .

Kimura Performance were also able to take invited guest to the races where they could enjoy great hospitality and personal interaction with Tarran.

In 2023 Tarran moves from the British championship to compete on the World stage with Petronas MEI Honda in the World Supersport class.
