Bio


Tarran 'Taz' Mackenzie, Son of three-time BSB Champion Niall Mackenzie, started his road racing career in 2006, competing on Mini Moto's. In 2009, Mackenzie competed on 125cc machinery and enjoyed years competing across the Aprilla Superteens, British Motostar and the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

After spending two years with the traveling circus that is MotoGP, Mackenzie made the switch from the Red Bull Rookies Cup and returned to Britain to compete in the National Superstock 600 Championship, where he spent two years, finishing tenth in 2014 and third in 2015.

For 2016, Mackenzie made his stunning British Supersport debut, claiming the title in his debt year - racking up five victories and a further ten podium finishes. Mackenzie remained in the Supersport category for a second season, however, after dominating the opening six races, the Scot was called up to replace the departing Danny Kent in the Moto2 World Championship, where Mackenzie competed from round five till the end of the 2017 season.

Mackenzie then returned to British soil in 2018, joining the McAMS Yamaha team. Mackenzie's debut season in British Superbike Championship saw the Ashby-De-La-Zouch rider claim four podiums in the second half of the 2018 season.

Mackenzie remained with the team for 2019 where he took his maiden race win and added a further four podiums to his record. Mackenzie also secured his place in the 2019 Showdown, where he ultimately ended the year fifth overall.

in 2020, Taz recorded his best season to date, although he matched his best championship result in fifth, the Ashby-de-la-Zouch based rider recorded two victories and a further four podium finishes.

After his strongest season to date, Tarran Mackenzie secured the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship crown with then victories and a further nine podium finishes.
